BLACKMAIL - Prologue

PROLOGUE

Today is Wednesday, January; a sweet couple of hedgehogs have been walking the whole day together, hand in hand. They just visited the clinic and received great good news; they are waiting for a baby. The father, called Ron, was just amazed and happy to receive a son with whom he could play his favorite game, football. Being at home, the couple sat together watching TV until night, Maria, Ron's wife, touched all night her belly waiting for her child, till then both fell asleep.

5 years later, the same day in the same house, was everything different, on the street people could hear cries from a woman and from a little baby, taking about 4 years, and those ones from his father. "DADDY, daddy please stop!!!", cried the kid lying on floor, while his father was hitting his own wife. The child could see how strong his father was, and how injured his mother looked like. After sometime, Maria fell on floor, bleeding like crazy; Ron just laughed like a criminal and said a lot of times "I DID IT". The kid couldn't understand it, why did his father such a thing, why was he even happy? Ron noticed his sons face, so he went to him threaten; and took him hardly from his shirt, "so you think you'll survive after seeing this?", the kid was scared seeing his fathers eyes; they were black-red, like the demons one, and those were staring at him like a psychopath. Ron raised his fist to hit his own son, but he couldn't; his neighbors were calling the police and they were here, pointing with their guns to him. Maria was dead, Ron was in jail but the kid was alone; the single solution for him, was to take him to the orphanage.

There he grew up, with 45 other orphans and great nurses that cared about every child. After two years, the kid received the news that his father died in jail, he didn't know how to think, but inside of him, he was happy. One day later after the news, Sonia the head of all nurses, took list of all the orphans in that place. "Maurice the bird?", she asked, "here", she received as answer. "Leon the fox?" "Here", "Tanja the cat?" "Here", "Shadow the hedgehog?", this time she received no answer; Sonia repeated the name many times and still no answer. Sonia went to his room and there he was, playing with his emo-bunny. "Shadow, I'm taking list like every Friday, come down", she said a little angry. "I'm coming Sonia..", he said looking down, Sonia left his room and continued with the list. The kid was 6 years old and was the youngest one in the orphanage, in his bunny; he had a drawing from his family. In that picture was something written: "From mommy and daddy for shadows first birthday- Maria & Ron". With tearful eyes, shadow looked up, he remembers why he was on the orphanage, and that time will he never forget.
